Diageo Planning US$ 50 Million Expansion in Ethiopia

Diageo, the London based alcoholic beverages company is planning to invest at least US$ 50 million in the Meta Abo Brewery soon, according to Capital.

Diageo’s Marketing Director for African Regional Markets, Ekwunife Okoli, said the company will be investing in the expansion of the Meta Abo Brewery.

“We are going to invest in expanding our brewing capacity as well as our packaging capacity. Currently, we are constrained in regards to both. So, there will be a new packaging line as well as expanding our brewery capacity” Okoli stated.

Construction work on the expansion is set to start in two months within the premise of its brewery is currently located.

“The demand for our brand has kept growing; that is why we are putting significant investment into expansion,” Okoli said.

US Energy Developer Terra Launches 400 MW Ethiopia Wind Project

Terra Global Energy Developers, LLC (Terra), the first US wind energy developer to enter Ethiopia’s growing wind energy sector, today announced the launch of a 400 MW wind energy project in Debre Birhan, Ethiopia.
